An introduction to Electrophysiology Study (EPS)
Electrophysiology study (EPS) is a test to identify the causes of cardiac dysrhythmia. It is performed by inserting an electrode catheter (a fine tube with an electrode attached to it) into the heart via either veins or arteries, recording electrical phenomena (electric potential) within the heart, and stimulating the heart from within.
