Dr. Ryota Sakurai

Dr. Ryota Sakurai received his B.A. degree in information science at University of Tokyo in 1993, and then he was admitted to the Osaka University School of Medicine. He graduated from Osaka University in 1998, and trained in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine at the University of Tokyo Hospital, Showa General Hospital, Mitsui Memorial Hospital, and Itabashi Central Hospital. After his training, he began to work at the Center for Research in Cardiovascular Interventions at Stanford University in June 2002, as the 5th postdoctoral fellow supported by the Stanford - St. Jude Medical Scholarship Program. He is interested in development of new medical treatment with regard to prevention of in-stent restenosis including drug-eluting stent.
